4502 - THE FABULOUS DUDES: Davilee / Go On
.... A-side is a fully-produced doo-wop ballad, written in 1961, recorded in 1987 and released in the summer of 1989. Authentic early 60’s sound. Extensive airplay when new included Don K. Reed (WCBS-FM, New York); Ronnie I (WNWK, New York), Charlie Horner (WXPN, Philadelphia), Ken Jordan (WELI, New Haven), “Street Corner Serenade” (WWUH, Hartford, CT), Jerry Rostelli (WESU, Middletown, CT) and Bill Clark and Ted McCall (WATD, Cape Cod, MA). B-side is an almost acapella rocker. Now out of print, but various price guides value near-mint used copies at $4.00-5.00.

4501 - PAUL PAYTON: Boys Like Girls / Relate 2 U
.... Recorded and released in May, 1985. A-side features famous Nashville writer and guitarist Al Anderson, formerly of NRBQ, in an uncredited performance. This is most likely the rarest NRBQ-related record as only 700 copies were pressed, mostly distributed around New England and New York. A-side is straight-ahead contemporary rock and roll with some 50’s group-harmony influences. Octave vocals on B-side show a Steve Miller influence. Long out of print, the Osborne price guide values “VG” copies at $3.00 to $5.00.
